Questions

Can I try the API before I commit?

Yes. The sandbox at /quickstart runs live data for every vehicle in the catalog, by VIN, year/make/model or config_key, and you can curl it too (curl 'https://vinspeclookup.com/api/sample/v1/vehicle?config_key=2019_honda_cr_v_ex_l15be'). No key, no signup; it's rate-limited per IP. It returns the production response shape, so you can build against it today.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is announced at launch. The tiers above show what each access level unlocks; early-access partners get first access and preferred terms. Tell us about your use case and we'll size a plan.

What's the difference between the tiers?

All tiers include the full set of read scopes. Higher tiers raise rate limits and monthly quota and add write access (enrichment) to grow coverage for vehicles we don't hold yet. Enterprise adds custom volume, invoicing, and an SLA.

What does a key add over the sandbox?

Your own rate limit and monthly quota instead of the sandbox's shared per-IP limit, and on higher tiers, enrichment (POST /v0/enrich) to add vehicles we don't hold yet. Request early access and tell us your use case.

What identifiers can I use?

VIN, year/make/model (with optional trim), or a canonical config_key. Ambiguous year/make/model returns the candidate configs so you can pick the exact one.
